My name is Jesse St. Laurent and I am the CTO – IT Strategy and a member of the founding team at Corporate Technologies (www.cptech.com). Corporate Technologies is an IT strategy consultancy, systems integrator, and value-added reseller.

I have a computer science degree from Brown University and I am a technologist at heart. However, my passion is helping to bridge the gap between the promise of technology and the requirement for business value. I think of myself as market-facing first, and interact regularly with IT users in all kinds of situations, trying to understand the business problems and the need for better technology solutions to address them.

Over the years, we have refined a New Product Evaluation (NPE) process at Corporate Technologies, which screens for the best technologies for client adoption. Fundamentally, our NPE process reduces every technology we analyze down to those that are most sustainable, and that are proven to reduce costs, reduce risks, and/or grow the business. As a friend of mine says, “Compelling technology does not always win, but compelling economics wins every time.”

Today, we apply this same rigorous methodology to all of the technologies we evaluate, whether systems, storage, networking, or software-related. It provides a structure for the analysis we deliver to our clients.

I have worked on the technical advisory boards for several storage companies. I also provide consulting services on topics ranging from high-level architecture issues to market trends and adoptions around specific technology areas and business solutions.
